212 Pastoral Services has written policies and procedures which are reviewed annually.	LD.1.7 The scope of services provided by each department is defined in writing and is approved by the hospital’s administration, medical staff, or both, as appropriate. LD.2.3 Directors develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services. *Note JC standards do not specifically state that annual evaluation must occur.
	LD.2 Each hospital department has effective leadership. LD.2.11 Departments that are not medical staff services that provide patient care are directed by one or more qualified professionals. LD.2.11.1 Responsibility for administrative direction and clinical direction is defined in writing. LD.2.11.2 A qualified professional with appropriate clinical training and experience is responsible for the clinical direction of patient care. *Note - JC standards do not require the director to be a member of a specific management level; however, this individual must be qualified and have appropriate training and experience.
